Door Installation Specialists

A door is only as good as the install.

The same fiberglass entry door installed two different ways gives you two different results. Properly shimmed, square in the rough opening, weatherstripped, and hardware-aligned, it'll swing free and seal tight for 25+ years. Rushed to bill the job and move on, it'll stick within a season, drift out of square, and let drafts past the threshold.

We install entry, storm, patio, and interior doors from ProVia, Therma-Tru, Larson, Pella, Masonite, and other recognized manufacturers — matched to your home's style, budget, and the way the door actually gets used.

Every install includes the parts that decide whether a door lasts: proper shim spacing, full-perimeter weatherstripping, threshold adjustment, and hardware alignment. Already have a door that sticks or drafts? We also handle door repair.

Door Options

Door types we install.

Six categories spanning the front of the house to the back, plus interior — the manufacturers and styles that hold up to Michigan weather and daily use.

Entry Doors

Front-of-House

Steel, fiberglass, and wood entry doors from ProVia, Therma-Tru, and Masonite — the front-of-the-house combination of security, energy efficiency, and curb appeal.

Storm Doors

Weather Buffer

Full-view, retractable-screen, and ventilating storm doors, primarily Larson. Adds a weather buffer in front of your entry door and seasonal ventilation.

Patio Doors

Back-of-House

Sliding glass and French patio doors from Pella, Andersen, and Marvin. Connect indoor to outdoor without giving up the energy seal.

Interior Doors

Inside the House

Panel, French, barn, and pocket doors. Solid-core for sound dampening between rooms; hollow-core for closets and lower-traffic openings.

Garage Service Doors

Fire-Rated

The fire-rated entry door between an attached garage and the house — code-required and often overlooked. We install proper 20-minute fire-rated doors with self-closing hardware.

Custom & Specialty

Custom Sized

Oversized doors, arched tops, sidelites, and transoms for unique openings — ordered to your exact rough-opening dimensions and stylistic spec.

Our Services

Complete door services.

From a single front-door swap to a whole-house door package — we handle the work the project actually requires.

01

Entry Door Replacement

Front-door swap with steel, fiberglass, or wood. Includes a new threshold, weatherstripping, and hardware tuned to the new slab. Most jobs finish in a single day.
02

Storm Door Installation

Storm door installed and tuned over an existing entry door — properly aligned hinge side, tight closer adjustment, and a sweep that actually contacts the threshold.
03

Patio Door Installation

Sliding glass and French patio doors. Properly leveled track, weatherstripping at the meeting stiles, and lock alignment so the door secures every time without forcing.
04

Hardware & Smart Locks

Quality locksets, deadbolts, and smart locks (Schlage, Kwikset, Yale). Installed at proper bore depth, with strike plates secured into the framing — not just the trim.
05

Frame & Threshold Repair

Rotted jambs and worn thresholds replaced before the new door goes in. Skipping this step is how new doors end up with old-door problems.
06

Free Door Consultation

Not sure what you need? We'll assess the opening, talk through material options, and recommend what fits your home and budget — without pushing the most expensive option.
Our Process

How a door project actually works.

Five steps from first call to a finished install. Most single-door jobs wrap in a single day once the door is on hand.

01

Consultation

We measure the opening, check the existing frame, and talk through style, material, and hardware options.

02

Quote

Detailed written estimate, broken out by door, including any frame work or hardware upgrades.

03

Custom Order

Door manufactured to your exact specifications. Lead time varies by brand and configuration — typically 2–4 weeks.

04

Installation

Old door removed, opening prepped and inspected, new door shimmed plumb and square, weatherstripped and sealed.

05

Walkthrough

We test the swing, lock, latch, and seal — and walk you through hardware operation before signing off.

The Reasonable Difference

Why homeowners choose us.

Recognized manufacturers, proper installation, and the install details that decide whether the door lasts.

Manufacturers You Recognize

ProVia, Therma-Tru, Larson, Pella, Andersen, Marvin, Masonite — the brands that show up at the lumberyard and back their products with manufacturer warranties.

Proper Shimming & Sealing

Doors set plumb and square with proper shim spacing, then weatherstripped, sealed, and finish-trimmed. The boring parts that decide whether the door is still tight in five years.

Hardware Alignment That Lasts

Strike plates secured into framing (not just trim), deadbolts that throw all the way home, hinges shimmed where the door is heavy. Hardware that doesn't drift out of adjustment.

Same-Day Completion

Most single-door installs finish in a single day, including hardware and clean-up. Your home stays secure throughout — we don't leave the opening exposed overnight.

42 Years in Michigan

Decades of installs across Michigan. We know which materials hold up to our freeze-thaw cycles, and which look great on day one and warp by year three.

Workmanship Warranty

Manufacturer warranties cover the door itself; our workmanship warranty covers the install. If a draft or operation issue traces back to our work, we come back and fix it.

Door Installation FAQ

Door installation FAQs.

A typical entry-door replacement runs $1,500–3,500 installed for steel or basic fiberglass. Mid-tier fiberglass with decorative glass and matching hardware runs $2,500–5,000. Premium ProVia or Therma-Tru with sidelites and a transom runs $5,000–9,000+. Wood doors vary widely by species and finish. We provide free written estimates with exact pricing.
A standard single-door replacement takes 2–4 hours. Adding sidelites, transoms, or replacing a rotted frame extends the job to most of a day. Whole-house door packages (front, back, and patio together) typically run 1–2 days. We give you a specific timeline at the estimate and stick to it.
Fiberglass is the value pick for Michigan — it doesn't warp, crack, swell, or rust through the freeze-thaw cycles. Steel is excellent for security and energy efficiency but can dent. Wood looks classic and accepts paint or stain beautifully, but needs more maintenance for our humidity and temperature swings. ProVia and Therma-Tru fiberglass hold up well here.
Yes — but most of the savings come from the install, not just the door. A new door with an insulated core, proper weatherstripping, and a tight threshold substantially reduces drafts. ENERGY STAR® rated doors offer the best efficiency on paper, but a poorly installed ENERGY STAR door will leak more than a properly installed standard one. Both pieces matter.
Yes. We install entry doors with sidelites (the narrow glass panels beside the door), transoms (the horizontal glass above), and full pre-hung systems combining all three. These add light and architectural interest, but they change the rough opening — we'll measure carefully and discuss what your wall structure can accommodate.
Yes. We install keypad locks, smart locks, and electronic deadbolts from Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, and August — during a door installation or as a standalone upgrade. Smart locks need proper bore depth and strike-plate alignment; getting it right is the difference between a lock that works reliably and one that 'almost' engages.
