Siding Specialists

Siding that works as hard as it looks.

Your siding has two jobs: protect the house from Michigan weather, and define how your home looks from the curb. Doing both well takes the right material — and the right installation underneath it.

We're manufacturer-certified installers for James Hardie, CertainTeed, Mastic, and LP SmartSide. That certification matters for two reasons: we install the way the manufacturer requires, and you get the strongest warranty options the manufacturer offers.

From classic vinyl to authentic fiber cement, we walk you through the options for your home's style and your budget. Every installation includes the details that matter — proper house wrap, flashing at every penetration, and trim work that holds up to freeze-thaw cycles.

How We Build It

The Reasonable siding system.

Siding is only as good as what's behind it. The panel you see is the last layer to go on — here is the build-up underneath that decides whether it lasts.

123456
Wall section · siding build-up
Build Spec · Six non-negotiables
01

Sheathing inspection

Before anything goes up, we pull the old siding and check the sheathing behind it — rotted OSB or plywood gets replaced, not covered over.

02

House wrap (WRB)

A full weather-resistive barrier over the sheathing, seams taped and shingle-lapped so any water that gets past the siding drains down and out, not into the wall.

03

Flashing at every penetration

Head and step flashing at windows, doors, and every spot water tries to sneak in. This is where most siding jobs quietly fail — we don't skip it.

04

Level starter course

The whole wall is only as straight as the first course. We set the starter strip dead level so every board above it lands right.

05

Correct fastener spacing

Nailed to manufacturer spec — not pinned too tight. Siding has to move with temperature swings or it buckles and cracks. Spacing and gap matter.

06

Trim, corners & J-channel

Corner posts, J-channel, and window and door trim that seal the edges and give the job a clean, finished line — the difference between sided and finished.

Siding Materials

Premium siding materials.

We install the materials that hold up best in Michigan — from value-grade vinyl to top-tier fiber cement.

Vinyl Siding

Lifetime Warranty

Low maintenance, excellent value, and available in dozens of profiles and colors. The most popular choice in Michigan, for good reason.

James Hardie Fiber Cement

30-Yr Warranty

The gold standard. Unmatched durability, fire resistance, and the authentic look of wood — without the maintenance wood requires.

LP SmartSide

50-Yr Warranty

Engineered wood with real wood character. Treated to resist moisture, impact, and the freeze-thaw cycles that destroy traditional wood siding.

Insulated Vinyl

Lifetime Warranty

Vinyl with built-in foam insulation. Improves energy efficiency, dampens sound, and gives the siding a more solid feel against the house.

Cedar & Natural Wood

By Species

Timeless beauty and natural character — the right choice for historic homes or anywhere authentic cedar is the only option that fits.

Shake & Shingle Accents

Accent Walls

Architectural interest in gables, dormers, and accent walls. Available in vinyl, fiber cement, or cedar to match your main siding.

Since 1984

“The panel everyone looks at is the last thing we install. The house wrap and flashing nobody ever sees are what actually keep the water out.”

Two generations of Michigan contractors, manufacturer-certified for the brands homeowners recognize. We install siding the way the manufacturer requires — because that's what earns you the warranty, and what keeps the wall dry for decades.

The Reasonable Difference

Why homeowners choose us.

Manufacturer certifications, proper installation, and a track record that goes back to 1984.

Manufacturer Certified

Certified installer for James Hardie, CertainTeed, Mastic, and LP SmartSide — which means better warranty options than non-certified installers can offer, and installs done the way the manufacturer requires.

Installation Done Right

Proper house wrap, flashing at every penetration, correct fastener spacing. The details under the siding are what decide whether it lasts twenty years or ten.

On-Schedule Completion

Most residential siding projects finish in 3–7 days. Larger or more complex homes take longer — but you'll know the timeline upfront, and we hold to it.

42 Years in Michigan

Decades of installations across Michigan. We know which products hold up to our freeze-thaw cycles and which ones look great on day one and fail by year five.

Complete Exterior

Coordinate siding with new roofing, gutters, and windows under one contractor — one schedule, one job site, one warranty conversation.

Financing Available

Affordable payment options including 0% financing on qualifying projects. We'll walk through what's available during your estimate.

Siding Installation FAQ

Siding FAQs.

For Michigan's freeze-thaw cycles, we typically recommend James Hardie fiber cement or high-quality vinyl — both handle temperature extremes well. Fiber cement gives you superior durability and curb appeal at a higher price; vinyl gives you excellent value and very low maintenance. LP SmartSide is a great middle option if you want the look of wood.
Costs vary by material, home size, and complexity. Vinyl typically runs $6–12 per square foot installed. James Hardie fiber cement runs $10–15+ per square foot. LP SmartSide falls between the two. We provide free estimates with exact pricing for your home, including all trim and flashing work.
Most residential siding projects take 3–7 days depending on home size and complexity. Larger homes or homes that need significant sheathing repair take longer. We give you a timeline during your consultation and stick to it.
If both need replacement, doing them together usually makes sense. You save on mobilization and disposal costs, the work is coordinated for cleaner integration at the eaves and rakes, and your home's exterior gets done in one project rather than two. We handle roofing too.
A complete installation includes tear-off of the old siding, inspection of the underlying sheathing, fresh house wrap, new siding installed to manufacturer spec, all trim and flashing, replacement of damaged sheathing where needed, and full cleanup. We don't bill for 'extras' that should be standard.
Yes. As manufacturer-certified installers, we provide the strongest warranty options available — up to lifetime on vinyl, 30+ years on James Hardie fiber cement, and 50 years on LP SmartSide — plus our own workmanship warranty on top.
